Chinese export porcelain punch bowl, ca. 1780, one side depicting the British Navy, the reverse with a popular satirical print of the day depicting John Bull and his French counterpart scowling at one another beneath the inscriptions, You be Damn'd and Vous êtes un bête, (You are a beast) 6 1/4" h., 15 3/4" dia. Provenance: A New Jersey Estate.

Large old sprayed repair right of Frenchman.
