Important Chippendale walnut slant front desk, ca. 1760, attributed to the workshop of Thomas White, Perquimans County, North Carolina, the fitted interior with shell and rosette carvings, over a case with four drawers and carved ogee bracket feet, 42 1/2" h., 40 3/4" w. this desk is pictured in American Furniture by John Bivins, edited by Luke Beckerdite, pg. 90. Provenance: M. DuPont.

Condition:Brasses replaced. Feet replaced. Base molding replaced.
