J. B. Allere Civil War model 1860 cavalry sabre

Scarce J. B. Allere Civil War model 1860 cavalry saber and scabbard, stamped on ricasso J. B. A., the opposing side stamped M, possibly for Melvain, of Tomes, Son, & Melvain, who were sword makers and received Government contract for 4103 cavalry sabers, also stamped A. C. M. on pommel cap for Alfred C Manning, who was a Government inspector in 1863, with wire wrapped leather grip, 33 3/4" blade.

Condition:Overall good condition, metal turning brown.
