Lancaster, Pennsylvania painted poplar Compass Artist dresser box, 19th c., with pinwheel decoration on a blue/green ground, 4" h., 5 1/8" w. Provenance: Purchased in the 1960's from a house sale in Kempton, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Included in a Winterthur Museum study The Compass Artist Project December, 2007.
Condition:Wear/staining to lid.
