Matched pair of flintlock dueling pistols

Matched pair of sequentially numbered flintlock dueling pistols by Jacob Kuchenreuter (Bavarian 1709-1783), approximately .55 caliber, numbered 1 and 2 on the breech plug tangs, inscribed by the maker on the barrel flats and locks, locks and cocks are scroll engraved with a stag on the lock tangs, the trigger guards, butt caps, thumb escutcheon and thimbles are finely engraved brass, set triggers having incised and relief carved, full length stocks with horn caps at muzzle, 10" octagonal to round barrels with v-notch rear sights.


Overall very fine condition. Gun #1 has a small crack to the stock near the right muzzle and appears to have a repair just above the butt cap.
