Pennsylvania Chippendale cherry tall case clock
Pennsylvania Chippendale cherry tall case clock, ca. 1780, the white face dial, inscribed John Murphy Northampton with a phase of the moon and a calendar mechanism enclosed in a swan's neck bonnet with rosettes flanking a keystone, the narrow waist with fluted quarter columns and a similar base resting on ogee bracket feet, 93" h. John Murphy was the earliest clockmaker in Allentown and this is one of his finest examples.
Condition:Parts: two weights, winder, and minute hand. Rosettes replaced. Flaking to moon phase. Second hand not attached. Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complate or in working condition.
