Pennsylvania Chippendale carved walnut dressing table, ca. 1765, having a molded top overhanging a case with a shell carved drawer, centered by reeded quarter columns with scrolled apron and center shell, the case supported by cabriole legs with shell carved knees terminating in trifid feet, 30" h., 32" w. Provenance: Sotheby's Auction, May 1981, lot 516; The Collection of John B. and Marjorie H. Schorsch.
Very small knot patch to top left front corner. Alterations to apron. Carving to drawer has been embellished. One leg is repinned.
