Pennsylvania folk art walnut mirror

Pennsylvania folk art walnut mirror, late 19th/early 20th c., with an elaborate tulip and heart cutout crest and philphlot carved base, 23 1/2" h. Two related examples are illustrated in Magazine Antiques, January 1957 and February 1924 (a copy of this issue accompanies the lot). For a similar example, please see the Pennsylvania German Collection Philadelphia Museum of Art, p. 53, donated by Titus Geesey 1955. Provenance: Garth's Auction, Ohio, May 20, 1995.
