School girl presentation silk on paper needlework, dated 1793, of a basket of fruit with inscription around edge Northfield for sister or Nellie Butler to keep as a relic of "ye olden time", Sept. 15 -'93 written by Mary ??, at 3 o'clock at the age about 77 - can thread a needle, sew and read quite well at evening - made by Auntie when a schoolgirl now 88 I still has good sight, 7" x 8". Provenance: The Collection of Dr. Carl Mogil, Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Condition:
Some edge tears, background with some pencil drawn grapes which apparently is unfinished.
