Natchez Trace, War of 1812 signed Tennessee ferry receipt, inscribed Gordan's Ferry Duck River, 15th April 1815. The United States, To John Gordan, for ferrying 800 men and horses of General Coffee's Brigade over Duck River, on their return march from New Orleans to the State of Tennessee at 12 1/2 cents each man & horse $100.00. Major Genl. Andrew Jackson, Sir, Please pay the above amount of one hundred dollars for ferrying my Brigade over Duck River on their return march from Orleans to Tennessee, 27th, April 1815 Jno Coffee Brigr. General. The verso dated May 20th 1815, acknowledging receipt of $100 signed by John Gordon. 7 1/4" x 11".

Condition:Creases, some small old tape marks to left edge, light toning.
