PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHER
Description:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented full-time on-site Product Photographer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment working with our photography team capturing large collections of fine antiques, art, and collectibles. Each item for auction is photographed for publication in our catalogs, advertisements, social media, and our website. The ideal candidate is an independent and creative thinker who can take direction but also work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Photograph a wide variety of auction items including antiques, furniture, fine art, and decorative objects, carefully setting up shots with proper studio lighting to ensure accurate and professional product representation.
- Photographing a range of items from small tabletop products to large furniture using a tethered shooting method in Lightroom and Capture One.
- Ability to handle a high-volume studio workflow.
- Name, organize, and maintain digital image files.
- Edit by cropping, removing shadows, extending backgrounds, spot-dusting, color correcting, etc. and prepare high-quality images for print and online publication using Adobe Photoshop.
- Meet deadlines with the photography team, but also collaborate with cataloging and marketing teams to meet production goals.
- Organize and maintain photo equipment and cleanliness of the photography studio.
- Handle delicate and high-value items with care and professionalism.
- Assist in maintaining organized digital archives of all images.
- Assist with various auction duties such as phone bidding, internet bidding, customer service, data recording as needed during auctions.
- Work overtime on week days and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Photography or related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional photography experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Canon EOS and Phase One systems
- Strong knowledge of Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of studio lighting and editing for print.
- Experience working in a PC-based environment.
- Self-motivated, organized, and willing to assist in all areas of photo production, as well as assist wherever needed within the auction house.
- Work well under pressure with strict deadlines and meet photography team goals.
- Experience photographing and handling antiques and fine art a strong plus, as well as prior experience working in an auction house or similar setting.
- This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available.
