Jamie Shearer has a wide array of appraisal experience with areas of specialization in American furniture, textiles, ceramics, and other decorative arts, including antique toys. As a United States Navy veteran, his service to the country laid the groundwork for his knowledge in the field of antique firearms, bladed weapons, and militaria. Growing up in York County, Pennsylvania to a family of antique collectors cemented his passion for antiques and added to his experience in handling high end antiques and fine art. Jamie started as a collector of baseball cards as a very young boy which led him to early sporting objects, then to candy containers, toys, Pennsylvania country furniture, and onward to early American tin, stoneware, and redware. He has been engaged in the antique business since 1980, cataloguing and appraising with auction houses since 1994, and is now a licensed auctioneer in the state of Pennsylvania. He is the 2022 and 2023 President of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association, as well as a member of the Ephrata Elks Lodge, the Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley, The Pennsylvania German Society, The Gold Glow of Christmas Past, and the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club, just to name a few.
